This Privacy Policy describes how HeartBP Monitor ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the HeartBP Monitor iOS application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal data is handled responsibly.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information that is absolutely necessary for the App to function and to provide you with its features.
Health Data You Voluntarily Provide: The App allows you to manually log and record various health metrics, including:
Blood Pressure (Systolic and Diastolic)
Heart Rate (manually logged or estimated via camera)
Blood Glucose Levels
Blood Oxygen (SpO2) Levels
Dates and Times of these measurements.
This health data is stored locally on your device.
Heart Rate Estimation Data (Temporary Processing): When you use the heart rate estimation feature, your iPhone's camera is utilized. The App temporarily processes color data from the camera feed to estimate your heart rate. This data is processed in real-time on your device and is NOT stored by the App after the estimation is complete, nor is it transmitted to any third parties.
App Usage Analytics: We may collect aggregated data about how the App is used (e.g., which features are most popular, crash reports) to improve the App's performance and user experience. This data does not identify you personally.
Information We Do NOT Collect
To uphold your privacy, we explicitly state the types of sensitive information we do not collect:
Personally Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or any other directly identifying information unless you explicitly provide it for a specific, declared feature.
Account Information: We do not require you to create an account to use the core features of the App.
Direct Health Device Data: If the App does not have explicit integrations with specific health devices, we do not collect data from them. All data must be entered manually or estimated via the camera feature.
Biometric Data (Other than Temporary Camera Processing): Beyond the temporary processing for heart rate estimation, we do not collect other forms of biometric data.
Sensitive Health Information Beyond Core Metrics: We do not collect information about your medical history, conditions, medications, or any other sensitive health details not directly related to the core tracking features.
User Content: We do not store any notes, comments, or other user-generated content beyond the raw health metric entries themselves.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the functionality of the App, including the logging, tracking, and estimation features.
To display your health data and trends within the App.
To improve the App's performance, troubleshoot issues, and enhance user experience through anonymized analytics.
To provide access to health and lifestyle resources (recipes, articles) as part of the App's services.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not share your personal information or your health data with any third parties, except in the following limited circumstances:
With Your Explicit Consent: We will not share your information without your express consent.
For Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request by a public authority (e.g., a court order, subpoena).
Service Providers (Limited): If we use third-party service providers for services such as crash reporting or anonymized analytics, these providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and are only permitted to use it for the services they provide to us. They are strictly prohibited from using your data for their own purposes.
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal health data.
Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect and process. Health data is stored locally on your device, which is under your control. We do not store sensitive health data on our servers unless explicitly required for a feature that you actively opt into (e.g., a secure cloud backup feature, if implemented and clearly disclosed).
Your Choices and Control
Local Storage: The primary storage of your health data is on your device. You have control over this data through your device's settings and by uninstalling the App.
Camera Access: You can revoke the App's access to your camera at any time through your iPhone's Settings.
Data Deletion: To delete your health data, you can manually clear entries within the App, or uninstall the App from your device. Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all locally stored data associated with it.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information from our records.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
